Terry M Lachcik has represented clients for twenty five years with a focus in personal injury matters involving automobile, premises liability and construction negligence, strict product liability and uninsured and under insured motorist claims, as well as property damage and subjugation in Cook and the surrounding collar counties, downstate circuit courts and the United States District Courts for the Northern and Central Districts of Illinois.
He has tried jury and non-jury cases to verdict in Cook and the collar counties, has represented clients in matters before court-appointed arbitration panels, and participated in the arbitration and mediation of cases in private alternate dispute resolution settings.
Terry earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago, majoring in history and criminal justice. He completed the Lawyers’ Assistant Program at Roosevelt University and began his legal career as a certified litigation paralegal for a small litigation firm in Chicago. While employed full time as a legal assistant he attended night classes at The John Marshall Law School in Chicago, and after graduation began his practice with an established insurance defense litigation firm.
Terry was admitted to practice in the State of Illinois and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois in 1989 and the U.S. District Court for the Central District of Illinois in 2007, and was admitted to the Trial Bar for the District Court for the Northern District of Illinois in 1995.
He is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the DuPage County Bar Association, and has served as a member of the Board of Education for Community Consolidated School District 89 since 2003.
